Snowfall Cinema was founded in 2015 by award-winning director Hisham Zaman with the purpose of producing authentic, artistic, and universally relevant films for Norwegian and international audiences. Snowfall developed and produced the mid-length film HEDDA (2016) and the short films THE BOY IN THE PICTURE (2016) and HALF DOG (2019), which garnered excellent reviews in Norway’s largest newspapers and magazines. A HAPPY DAY, the company’s first feature film, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023 and was one of three films shortlisted to be Norway’s Oscar candidate that year. Since 2022, the company has also been running the talent program “Hver Sin Cinema,” which gives aspiring filmmakers from diverse backgrounds hands-on experience in bringing their stories to the screen.
